Meet The Team
We are so proud of the fact that all our staff are born and bred within 15 miles of St Dogmaels and are happy to converse in both Welsh and English. We have a very loyal, trustworthy, and hardworking team, some who have been here for nearly 50 years, all dedicated to provide a customer experience second to none.
As a family run business, we believe in transparency and treating our customers as part of one, big, happy family, therefore, we would like to introduce you to our dedicated gang of workers.
Wyn Rees
Managing Director
Wyn officially started his career at B V Rees in June 1976, but, in reality, he was part of the staff long before that, spending school holidays and weekends in the workshop from a very young age. Wyn is youngest son of Victor (BV) and Esther. A highly qualified technician, winning Top UK Technician in 1983 and runner up in the whole of Europe in 1984. Quite an achievement. Wyn now spends much of his time with administration and sales, but don’t be surprised to see him with a spanner in his hand from time to time. You will find him at the original Abbey Garage most of the time but would be more than happy spending his time on his boat fishing or watching any kind of sport
Iwan Rees
Sales Department
Iwan is the son of Wyn and a third generation of the family business. Joining the company after completing his A-Levels in 2005. Commencing in the service department as a service advisor and then qualified as a motor dealership accountant. Progressing to car sales in 2011, but still keeping an administrative roll in the service and warranty department, Iwan can be found in the Tivy Stores showroom 200m from Abbey Garage. For his sins, Iwan is a Manchester United season ticket holder and attends “The Theatre of Dreams” quite often.
James Evans
Sales Department
James started with B V Rees back in July 2015, learning the ropes very quickly and becoming a very proficient and knowledgeable sales advisor. Known as “Jimmy the wand” for his fabulous footballing skills, still turning out for his beloved Cardigan Town on Saturday afternoon’s. James is from Newchapel just five miles from down the road and attended Preseli school and then studied psychology at Cardiff University. You can have a chat with him in his office in the Tivy Stores showroom.
Myrddyn Davies
Sales Admin and Company Secretary
128’s and original Fiat 500’s. Every team needs someone who looks after the accounts, paperwork, and the vast number of regulations and standards that must be complied to. He is the top man for that. He is our man behind the scenes, keeping the wheels lubricated and turning. Myrddyn is coming up to 50 years of service at B V Rees. A rare achievement in any industry. These days he likes to spend his free time with his family and fly fishing.
Andrew Evans
Service Department
Andrew or “Weeble” as he is affectionally called, has been a part of our team since August 1978. Has worked on thousands of cars from Triumph to Rolls Royce, even vintage Austin 7’s. There’s very little Andrew does not know about cars, a true, old- school technician. Starting as an apprentice and now our Service Manager for the last 5 years. Now that his knees are creaking, has had to hang up his rugby boots and dedicates a lot of his spare time to the many grandchildren that he has.
David Lewis
Service Department
Dai or Dai 15 as he is known to many, due to his enterprising venture whilst at school, producing “false” pencils during woodwork classes, and selling hundreds of them at 15 pence each!!! Dai started with us in August 1998 at the age of sixteen and has been here ever since. He is our Fiat, Fiat Professional and SsangYong Expert Technician having attained highly skilled qualifications. More recently, he has become a level 3 qualified Electric Vehicle specialist. There is not much Dai does not know about Fiat or SsangYong. Dai spends his downtime with his young family and racing grass track cars.
Kyle Noble
Service Department
Kyle is the newest kid on the block, having started with us in January 2021. Kyle qualified as a technician in a local garage before transferring to us. He gained a considerable amount of knowledge, repairing and servicing all makes of cars and vans gaining his level 3 qualifications. Kyle is now in full training to become a Fiat and SsangYong DET and EV expert technician. At the weekends, he plays football and races his extremely fast quad bikes at various locations across the country.
Llyr Williams
Service Department
Llyr is the youngest of the bunch. Having initially attended one day a week as a school, work experience pupil, we were so impressed by his ability and attitude, he was offered an apprenticeship as soon as he was allowed to leave school in July August 2019. He has developed into a very skilled and valued part of the team. He declares himself as an avid follower of Emmerdale and Eastenders.
Hannah Truslove
Service Department
Hannah is our lovely service advisor. She started her career with us back in September 2018 but having had years of experience doing similar work in a local establishment. Hannah is the friendly voice you hear when you arrange an appointment for a service or MOT test along with being a parts advisor. A Crymych girl, attending the local school before going on to higher education and now devotes much of her time as a darts player and follower.
Eirianwen Davies
Service Department
Eirianwen is our warranty administrator and service advisor, commencing employment at B V Rees at the same time as Hannah in 2018. You will very often speak to “Ernie” when she conducts her follow-up calls following a workshop visit or vehicle purchase. She is the proud owner of some very pampered pooches and very often attends dog shows and events.
Mark Edwards
Parts Department
Mark has been working in our parts department as manager since the start of the millennium, having held the same roll at another local car dealer. He has an incredible memory and will remember hundreds of 8 or 9-digit part numbers off the top of his head! Mark is very much a wine connoisseur and has the ability to identify many of the fine wines from all over the world. He follows the Beaujolais run every year if possible.
Martin Evans
Vehicle Preperation
Martin has been with us since January 2003 when the old Dewhirst or Slimma factory closed in Cardigan where he was the machine maintenance technician. Martin is our valeter and recovery truck driver and will occasionally help out in our extremely busy workshop. Let’s hope none of our customers ever need to be recovered, but if you do you are in extremely safe hands with Martin. He likes nothing more than a few days away in quaint countryside towns and visiting distilleries where he proclaims to have quite a nose for single malts!
Clive Williams
Vehicle Preparation
Clive is our vehicle detailer having previously been a postal worker for many years and is also a retained firefighter. If you see him running past you, he’s on a shout. Getting those cars immaculate is not always easy and Clive is constantly attending training courses to broaden his knowledge and expertise to get the best possible finish on our vehicles. Having been a very successful footballer with the unbeatable St Dogmaels Saints, he now watches local football on Saturday afternoons.
Katherine Rees
Vehicle Preparation
Katherine is an ever present in the garage. She is either cleaning cars, keeping the place tidy, sorting out and recycling rubbish or delivering cars. One of those people that every workplace needs to keep the place ticking over and running smoothly. Katherine loves nothing more than taking part in a pub quiz or baby-sitting grandchildren.
Elfyn Rees
Vehicle Preparation
Having recently retired from running his own business, he is now part of our team as a driver, travelling all over the country. Today, he could be collecting a car in our recovery lorry from London and tomorrow, delivering a sales vehicle to Aberdeen and returning by train. Business isn’t restricted to our locality anymore as we are now deal with customers all over the UK. Having someone as reliable and dependable as Elfyn is a huge boost to our company. In his spare time, he is seen with his family and grandchildren.
